COVID-19 Response and Lessons

The COVID-19 outbreak has disrupted everyone’s lives around the world and has created challenges that we all have had to overcome. In this session, we will focus on the impact COVID-19 has had on GPE activity and the approaches used to persevere. We invite participants to share what they have done to adjust to these unprecedented times. Questions we hope to address in this facilitated discussion include:

  • What have you done in your GPE activities to adjust to COVID-19?
  • What challenges and victories did you face when making those adjustments?
  • What lessons can we learn from this situation to improve GPE activities once this crisis is over?

New Initiatives

It has been a busy year for GPE! In addition to the development and launch of the Global BEEHIVE courses which will be discussed in their own session, we have been working on a number of projects to improve the quality and functionality of our program. In this session we will introduce the following projects:

  • The development of a partnership database.
  • A new payment system.
  • A preview of our new wiki site.
  • The launch of our new training and professional development program.

Global BEEHIVE

May 20, 2020: 7:00 am EDT

As presented at GPE XII last year, four new GPE courses are being launched. This past academic year, Global Business and Global Education had successful pilots. Global Business will be open to all partners in Fall 2020. Global Education will be open to all partners in Spring 2021. Global Environment and Global Health are being piloted this coming year and will be available to all partners in AY 2021/2022. In this session, members from the development teams will discuss their respective courses and answer any questions.

GPE Awards and a Look to the Future

As we close out the GPE XIII conference, we will reflect on this past year and look towards the future. We will also take this opportunity to recognize the recipients of this year’s GPE Awards and invite the University of Shimane to once again, welcome us to their campus for GPE XIV.
