We strongly recommend flying into Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) located just north of Paris. There are multiple daily flights to/from all international destinations, with easy access to Paris and to direct train transportation to Tours.
We recommend taking one of the direct high-speed TGV trains directly from Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV to Saint Pierre des Corps high-speed train station near Tours. Taking the legendary TGV “bullet” train is a cultural experience in itself! There are multiple direct trains per day and the total travel time is around 2 hours. The train tickets may be booked via SNCF Connect website or using the SNCF Connect mobile app.
We suggest leaving a 2-hour gap between your scheduled landing time and your train’s scheduled departure time, to allow time to clear immigration and customs.
Currently posted train times for May 18 2025 are as follows:
From the Saint Pierre des Corps high-speed rail station there is a light rail shuttle to the central station of Tours, departing a few minutes after the TGV Train’s arrival, generally from the same platform.
You may also travel by TGV train to Tours via the Montparnasse train station in south-central Paris. There are multiple direct trains per day, but you must take a taxi from the Airport to the Montparnasse station (about 1 hour’s drive, for a 55 euro flat rate for a taxi) or use the Paris Metro system.
Slower train transit from Paris city center to Tours can be taken from the Austerlitz station in Eastern Paris. As with Montparnasse, there are multiple trains per day but you must take a taxi to the station from the Airport or use Paris’ Metro system.
